Here is some more prose from my books of words. As you know I like the poetry/prose that I collect from Facebook and what I see in books etc. I hope you are not getting fed up…so here goes:
A Truckers Prayer
Lord, please help me to be safe as I travel each mile,
Let your presence guide me and bring me a smile,
Take care of my family while I’m away,
Let them know I miss them each and every day,
Steer me clear of danger as I cross the country alone,
I put my hands in your Lord,
Keep me safe,
Get me home,
If someone treats you bad,
just remember that there is something wrong with them, not you,
Normal people don’t go around destroying other people.
I’m Not Lost,
I have stopped telling myself that I am lost,
I’m on a road without a destination,
I’m just driving with hope that I will find a place that I like and that I will stay there,
I’m not lost,
I’m on my way.
We should not go back to normal.
Because normal was the problem.
You don’t always have to be strong,
Sometimes you need to scream,
cuss, through shit,or have a really good cry.
But you always,
always need to pull yourself back,
then go back to being the badass you were meant to me.
And when nobody wakes you up in the morning,
And when nobody waits for you at night,
And when you can do whatever you want,
What do you call it…
Freedom or Loneliness
You will never speak to anyone more than you speak to yourself,
In your head,
be kind to yourself.
Nothing keeps another awake at night,
more than knowing their adult child is or if they are Ok,
or if they are hurting.
I miss me,
The old me,
The happy me,
The smiling me,
The laughing me,
The gone me.
This could be happening now in 2021…
Remember it didn’t start with gas chambers.
It started with politicians dividing the people with “us and them”.
It started with intolerance and hate speech and when people stopped caring became de sensitive and turned blind eye.
Life is just like a willy,
Sometimes it’s up,
And sometimes it’s down,
But it won’t be hard forever.
Never regret a day in your life,
Good days give happiness,
bad days give experience,
Worst days give lessons.,
And best days give memories.
