TV shows and Movies I have loved and enjoyed

Just a random blog about me talking about TV shows and movies that I have enjoyed.Programmes and movies from the past and present.

I will start with TV shows and the furthest back in time is “The Woodentops”….which was my favourite from the “Watch With Mother” series……Along with that was another children’s show called “Twizzle”

As I got older of course I was into “Top of the Pops” which every born the same time as I watched. I remember the very first episode…..but before that was “The Six-Five Special”.It was the only way I saw my favourite pop stars…..who else remembers “Ready Steady Go” on a Friday night with Cathy McGowan. That is the show I was introduced to Donovan. Also, love “Bonanza” and “The Thornbirds”.Michael Landon and Richard Chamberlain.

As my family are aware I love the end of the world scenarios……”Survivors” 1975 series…….I watched it all, dreamt of it, found books of it and son no1 recorded the whole series of YouTube for me. Of course, I also watched “Day of the Triffids” and “The Dome”.

I love police dramas of all sorts…….so during the lockdown, I have watched on IPlayer….”The Walking Dead”, “Silent Witness” to name two. Show set in the 50 and ’60s….”Heartbeat” “The Royal” and I have recently discovered “The Indian Doctor” set in Wales in the ’60s. Also rewatched “Call The Midwife” “Downton Abbey”, “Life on Mars” and “Ashes to Ashes”. Have also enjoyed “Gentleman Jack” “Doctor Foster”, “The Cry”

I also love quiz shows……..”Pointless”, “Tenable”, “The Chase” and “Tipping Point” and of course I was a sucker for “Big Brother” and “I’m a Celebrity”

Not forgetting “Who Do Think You Are”, “Ben Fogles Life in the wild” to name to more and also “Gogglebox”

Now to the movies…….. “On The Beach” starring Gregory Peck and Ava Gardner based on the book of the same name by Nevil Shute. It really scared me…..read the book first. Another Nevil Shute novel made into a movie was “A Town Called Alice”.

I have seen all the “Harry Potter” movies but none of “The Stars Wars”

A favourite movie that I saw at the cinema was Olivia Colman in “The Favourite” a brilliant actress I discovered in the TV series “Broadchurch”

There are lots more I have watched and enjoyed and probably lots not watched but should. Until next time Cheerio
