At the moment I am in terrific pain with a flare-up in my right knee of arthritis. I have put up with it for almost six weeks and it got so painful I could hardly walk. I bought Paracetamol and Co-Codamol over the counter…sprayed Freeze and Deep heat willy nilly. I managed to have a phone call over the phone with my GP who prescribed me Codeine and Ibuprofen gel…which I have been using.<\/p>\n
It has not really done anything.<\/p>\n
Hubby has been suggesting a walking stick and I have been hoo hawing it….no I did not want to go down that way. Today I was loaned a lovely black one with flowers on from son no 2’s friend. Was told how to walk with it….as I was not sure.<\/p>\n
So I decided to go along the Post Office to post a letter.<\/p>\n
With the mantra of “put you good leg forward, have the stick in the hand of the good leg and bear when you walk with the bad leg”, that way you are not putting too much weight on your bad leg.<\/p>\n
Well, it was exhausting…on the way, I kept forgetting to put the right leg forward so was getting in a muddle and tripping myself up.<\/p>\n
On the way back was worse…all over the way and trying to cross the road I… got my feet mixed up and almost fell off the kerb.<\/p>\n
I guess I looked like “A drunk in charge of a walking stick”<\/p>\n
